Guests must arrive in Winnipeg the day prior to our charter flight departures. Air Canada / United and Delta / WestJet service Winnipeg daily from the U.S. Delta Airlines offers four daily direct flights to Winnipeg from Minneapolis.

Kaska’s charter flights are scheduled to depart from Northways Aviation hangar at the St. Andrews Airport at approximately 6:00 AM. Northways provides a complimentary shuttle between our recommended airport hotel and the St. Andrews Airport. The shuttle pick-up at the hotel is 5:00 AM.

Baggage Limits: Due to stringent Transport Canada regulations regarding aircraft capacities and weight allowances, our air charter company has set a baggage allowance (including carry-on and gun cases) of 75 lbs per person for guests travelling to our lodge.

Importing Your Shotgun into Canada

Visitors to Canada

To import firearms into Canada you must have a valid purpose. Valid purposes can include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • hunting during hunting season
  • use in competitions
  • repair
  • re-enactments
  • in transit movement, i.e., moving in the most direct route possible from point A to point B, through Canada
  • protection against wildlife in remote areas

Non-restricted Firearms

If you are importing non-restricted firearms and you hold a valid Canadian Firearms licence, you will need to show the valid Canadian firearms licence to a border services officer.

If you do not hold a valid Canadian firearms licence, you must:
